Homemade All Natural Disenfectant For Your Bento Supplies

Many bento boxes have rubber seals in them that tend to get mildew and can be a breeding ground for germs and bacteria. A great way to disinfect your bento boxes is with an all natural cleaner that you can make right at home for little cost!
What you will need is distilled or purified water (I chose to use purified water from my cute Hello Kitty water purifier), Tea Tree Oil (you can find it at most stores with the supplements and vitamins), an all natural dish soap and a 16oz trigger bottle.
Fill the trigger bottle almost to the top, add 3 tbl spoons of the soap and 20 to 30 drops of the Tea Tree Oil to the water and shake to mix.

The rubber seal is usually in the lid, just remove it and spray it down with the cleanser and use a q-tip to get down in the small crease of the lid where the seal was. I leave the cleanser on for about 5 minutes and then rinse.

Even though Tea Tree Oil is an all natural essential oil it is dangerous if swallowed like with all other disinfectants. So make sure to keep it in a safe place with your other household cleansers. To learn more about Tea Tree Oil and its uses click HERE.
