My Last Bento Post For Awhile...

As many of you know my family and I are in the process of moving from Okinawa, Japan to Quantico, Virginia. We go into a hotel tomorrow until March 5th then we will be on our way to the states. So today I will post pics from my last bento class that I did last week. We did cheese roll up bentos! My kids have not had a "proper" bento in 2 weeks except for the bento that I made for the class. This morning I stopped and grabbed both of them a salmon onigiri and taiyaki and threw it into a bento box along with an apple juice. Oh, THE HORROR! They went to school with food that was not made at home! :( Though I am guessing I have a pretty good excuse for cheating! :)

I hope to be back in bento mode by the end of April beginning of May time frame. Wish me luck on the big move and Happy Bentoing!

Oh the joys of moving.... the horror of it being from one continent to another!!! I can't imagine. Bentos in Virginia? Prepare yourself for some really weird looks... I imagine it will be a lot like what I get here in Texas.

I hope everything goes smoothly for your move. Before you leave, you might want to send a box of your favorite bento/cooking supplies and ingredients to your new address. It will be much harder to find them in the states!

Those looks in Texas are probably a lot like the looks my bento lunches get here in Kentucky...

I hope your trip went well, and I hope that your absence doesn't mean otherwise! My little boy isn't in school yet, but oh the ideas you have given me for the future! I take notes on the bentos you prepare and have lists of things I will do once my boy starts school. Thanks for sharing all your hard work! Yours is my favorite bento site and the only one I look at anymore. I hope you'll be back soon with more fabulous ideas!

Just randomly came across your blog because I'm a bento lover. I use to live on Oki for 3 years. I miss the place terribly!! Hope the move is a smooth one. Can't wait to see more entries :)
